Clear the Server Cache

You can manually clear the cache on the server if you make changes and the cached version becomes out of date. Clearing the cache removes the stored items from memory and will then require the system to retrieve the requested items from the database the next time the system accesses the information.

The cache is also commonly cleared when a server is reset. It is rare to have to clear the cache manually. The cached version can become out of date when you perform maintenance and change items that are defined in external systems or use applications that do not have access to the cache in Anthology Student.

For example, you need to clear the cache if you use the legacy interface to add or edit school-defined fields.

Other items are cached as well (such as system settings and user profile information). These are refreshed automatically when a user logs in and out of the system. These items are not cleared by this command. Javascript and other requested resources are also cached in the web browsers for staff members using Anthology Student. These can be cleared by using the settings menu within the browser.

This feature only applies to the server cache.
