Background for the College Finance Plan

The Financial Aid College Finance Plan provides a quick summary of the costs and funding associated with attending an institution. The College Finance Plan template is published by the Department of Education (ED). ED requires an institutional commitment for those institutions who have agreed to comply with the principles in Executive Order 13607 or voluntarily decided to participate in using this format.

The College Finance Plan includes the costs of enrollment broken down into tuition, housing, books, and transportation. Methods of payment for college costs are also described; including grants and scholarships broken down by type.

The financial aid administrator typically provides College Finance Plans to prospective students and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at the beginning of the financial aid process.

In Anthology Student, users can select the Processes tile and open the College Finance Plan page to:

  • View and print College Finance Plans for prospective students

  • View, print, or save College Finance Plans for enrolled undergraduate and graduate students

  • View and print saved College Finance Plans

Students can select a link in the Student Portal and view their College Finance Plans. This requires external links to be configured Student Portal. Configuration instructions for external links are available in Portal Administrator Help under External Application Integration.
