Configuration Tasks

When the installation of Connector Service Manager is complete, the following configuration files are created under the installation path:

  • ServiceManagerConfiguration.config
  • Cmc.CampusVueConnector.ServiceManager.exe.config

You configure these files by opening them using an XML editor and providing appropriate values for the different options in the relevant sections.

Connector Service Manager contains the following modules:

  • CampusVue Agent (SIS Agent)
  • Talisma Agent (CRM Agent)

The service modules’ configuration options are grouped under four sections in the ServiceManagerConfiguration.config file: a section each for each service module and two additional sections for certain special options of the CampusVue Agent module.

Support for Service Manager Custom Configurations

Service Manager includes custom configuration files that the administrator can use to change the configuration of Service Manager. Modifying these files enables the administrator to safeguard the customization during an upgrade of Connector.

The ServiceManagerConfigurationcustom.config Service Manager configuration file is available for customization.

The following Service Manager mapping files are available for customization:

  • FieldMapConfig.CampusVueAgent.Custom.xml
  • FieldMapConfig.TalismaAgent.Custom.xml

The Service Manager configuration and mapping files are customizable versions of the files that are installed in the default installation location of the Service Manager module. By default, the custom version of the files is installed in the C:\Program Files\CMC\C2000\CampusVue Connector path. Any modifications to the custom version of the files must be made in this path.

When the custom configuration files are installed, the name of the files is prefixed with the text "Template_". If the administrator wants to use the custom version of these files, the administrator must perform the following steps:

  1. Copy the files.
  2. Remove the “Template_” prefix from the file name.
  3. Modify the files appropriately.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Restart the Service Manager Windows service.

    Note: To use the mappings for Activity Status, Activity Status Result, or any other property value level mappings that are stored in the mapping files, the administrator must use the custom versions of the three Service Manager mapping files. The mappings files must be modified after the installation of Connector is completed.

The web services URLs for the Anthology Student systems integration is specified in the Cmc.CampusVueConnector.ServiceManager.exe.config file.

The web service location for the CampusNexus CRM iServices is stored in the ServiceManagerConfiguration.config file.

Azure Deployment of Customizations

The changes that were made to the Connector to support running on Azure only apply to how customizations are deployed to Azure.

Any customizations made to the following connector files:

  • FieldMapConfig.CampusVueAgent.Custom.xml
  • FieldMapConfig.TalismaAgent.Custom.xml
  • ServiceManagerConfigurationCustom.config
  • QueueManagerConfigurationCustom.config

will have to be delivered to the installation team to be packaged into the deployment files for each specific Azure deployment; they cannot be changed on the Azure server after deployment.

There are no changes for customization if deploying as a standard Windows service.
