Configuring an Item Tab

You can configure the Item Tab Component to display the Tabs of the selected Object item. In the Configure Item Tab dialog box, you can specify a name for the Item Tab, select the Object for which Tabs must be listed in the Component, and set Context for the Tabs that will be displayed in the Component.

Elements of the Configure Item Tab Dialog Box

Name of the field

Description

Item Tab Name

Displays the name of the Item Tab Component. By default, the name "Talisma Item Tab" is displayed in this field. You can modify this name.

Item Tab of

Lists all Talisma Objects. The Item Tab of the Object selected in this list will be displayed in the Component.

Item Tab

Lists the tabs displayed in the window of the Object selected in the Item Tab of list.

Display Item

Lists options that enable you to configure the current Component to display items that receive Context from another Component in the same Workspace, or a different Workspace.

The options available in the Display Items list are:

•   Based on Component in this Workspace: If you choose this option, the Set Context button enabled. In the Set Context dialog box, all Components that can provide Context to the current Component are displayed in the Component column. In the Relationship with <Object> column, all Relationships of the Object of the Component providing Context with the Object of the current Component are displayed. Select the Relationship that must provide Context to the current Component.

•   Based on Component in Another Workspace: If you choose this option, the Set Context button is enabled. In the Set Context dialog box, all Relationships of the base Object with the Object of the current Component are listed. You can select the Relationship that must provide Context to the current Component.

Set Context

Displays the Set Context dialog box that enables you to configure the Item Tabs in the current Component to receive Context from another Component.

To Configure the Item Tab Component

1.  In the Item Tab Name field, type a name for the Component. By default, Talisma Item Tab is displayed. You can modify this.

2.  From the Item Tab of list, select the Talisma Object whose Item Tab you want to configure in the current Component.

A list of all tabs of the selected Object is displayed in the Item Tab list.

3.  From the Item Tab list, select the required tab.

4.  From the Display Item list, select the Workspace from which the current Component must receive Context.

Select Based on Component in this Workspace to configure the items in the current Component to receive Context from items in another Component, within the same Workspace.

a.  Click the Set Context button.

The Set Context dialog box is displayed. In the Set Context dialog box, the Component column lists the Components configured in other panes that can provide context to the current Component. The Object column displays the Base Object selected for the current Workspace. The Relationship with <Object> column lists all Relationships of the Base Object with the Object of the current Component.

b.  From the Component column, select the Component on which the data in the current Component must receive Context.

c.  From the Relationship with <Object> list, select the Relationship that must provide Context to the current Component.

- OR -

Select Based on Component in another Workspace to configure the items in the current Component to receive Context from a Component in a different Workspace.

a.  Click the Set Context button.

The Set Context dialog box is displayed.

b.  In the Set Context dialog box, select the Relationship that must provide Context to the current Component.

5.  Click OK.

The Configure Item Tab dialog box is displayed.

6.  Click OK.

The Item Tab Component for the selected Object is configured.

Note 

You can select more than one Component from which the current Component must receive Context. However, they must be configured in the same pane.
