Permissions Required

Use Media Chat - To work in the Chat Workspace. Chat requests are routed only to Users who have this Permission. These Users can work with chat sessions and log Interactions.

In order to maximize the service provided to each visitor, it is sometimes necessary that you consult another User. To make this communication faster and more convenient, the Talisma Chat feature provides you with the ability to initiate a chat session with any other User who:

•   Is currently logged on to Talisma Client.

•   Has the Use Media Chat Permission in the relevant Teams.

You can request a User belonging to any Team in which you have the Use Media Chat Permission, to participate in an internal chat session.

When you are requested to join a chat session, you can choose to accept or deny the request. When you accept the request, your name is automatically displayed in the Participant column of the source User’s My Sessions pane, and a chat session commences.

Each internal session that you have initiated, is displayed as a separate chat session in the My Sessions pane.

To Initiate an Internal Chat Session

1.  In the Chat tab of the Talisma Chat Workspace, click . The Internal Session dialog box is displayed.

2.  Select a Team node and click the plus sign (+) to view the list of Users in the Team who are currently logged on to Talisma.

3.  Select the required User.

4.  The recipient User's name is displayed in the Participant column of the My Sessions pane, and the recipient User receives the Internal Session request. The recipient User can confirm by accepting the internal session. However, if the User denies the internal session request, the recipient User's name is removed from the Participant column in the My Sessions pane, and an appropriate message is displayed in your Transcript pane indicating that the request was denied.

The recipient User can select End Session from the Chat menu to quit an ongoing internal session.

Note

•   When the User accepts the request, the Participant column of the My Sessions pane displays the name of the User who accepted the request. The Users can type messages in the Transcript pane.

•   During an internal chat session, visitor data is not displayed in the Message Properties tab.

•   You cannot trash a session unless you own the session.

•   When calculating load for Users, Talisma does not take internal sessions into consideration.
