Exporting a Project to Another Tenant
Customer Voice enables exporting a project from one tenant for import into another.
-
From the My projects view, click the ellipsis symbol next to the project you want to export to another tenant.
-
Then select Export from the drop-down list.
A new window will open which will display the link to the project package in Azure.
-
Click the Copy button and then paste it into an email, chat, etc. to send the link to a recipient or even yourself.
The recipient can copy the link into their Customer Voice environment in another tenant after which the project will be available for use in the other tenant. It will be associated by default to the default Dataverse environment. You can then use the Copy to function to associate it with your production or sandbox environment.
Notes:
- The export operation is a static process. It creates a link to a package of the Project and Survey parameters at that time. This means if you update the project in the source tenant later, the link will not pick up the updates.
- If you update the project and create a second export link and then import it into the tenant where you previously imported it, it will not update the earlier import. Instead, a new project will be created.
- No information is ‘exported’ to your local computer. All content will be in Azure and you cannot access the contents of the package.
When you export the project, the following components will be included in the export:
- Project
- Name
- Satisfaction Metrics
- Survey
- Title
- Description
- Name
- Questions and their corresponding answer options
- Survey customizations
- Survey distribution settings
- Email templates and their corresponding languages
Note: Any Power Automate Flows created for distribution of the surveys will need to be transferred by using the export/import process from the Flow user interface separately.
