Background for Processing for Summer Packaging

If you select Scheduled Academic Year for Academic Year Type, Yes for Package in Summer, and Trailer or Header for Uses Summer, Anthology Student calculates the number of disbursements and Title IV amounts in the financial aid packaging process (including automatic packaging and estimates). Anthology Student only includes fund sources that have been configured to be awarded in the summer.

Anthology Student also uses a different method to create the academic years for program versions configured with summer headers or trailers.

The table shows examples of the formula used for Pell grants for academic calendars.

For Pell grants, the Additional Eligibility Indicator is selected if the regular Pell award + the summer Pell award exceeds the maximum for the award year.

Summer Header and Trailer and Academic Years

Anthology Student includes the summer header or trailer when it creates the academic years and matches the start and end dates with the summer header or trailer.

For a Schedule Academic Year, it creates the academic years based on the total credits calculated and:

  • The number of terms in the academic year

  • The credits in the full academic year

The semester and trimester based academic calendars have 2 terms. The quarter based academic calendar has 3 terms, plus the summer header or trailer (4 terms). Using this configuration, Anthology Student creates academic years until all the credits are assigned.

For a student who is enrolled with transfer credits, the total credits for the program that the student is enrolled in are reduced by the number of the transfer credits.
