Application Tabs and Properties

The tables in this topic describe the Properties available in the various tabs of the Application Object.

The Application window contains the following tabs:

The text "TBA" in the last column of the table refers to Talisma Business Administrator.

Properties Tab

The Properties tab contains system Properties. It also contains custom Properties created for the Application Object. Values for these Properties are set in Talisma Client.:*

Name *

The name of the Application.

Team

The Team to which the Application belongs.

Created On

The date and time when the record was created.

Last Updated

The date and time when the record was last updated.

Program #

The Program for which the applicant applies. For example, Masters in Business Administration.

Program Version #

The version of the Program in which the applicant is interested. For example, Marketing.

Term #

Name of the Term. For example, Fall 2011.

Applicant status #

Enumerated value indicating the status of the Application. The Business Administrator User must define values for this Property.

Admissions representative #

By default, the value in this field is the User who creates the Application.

In previous versions of Talisma, the name of this Property was Owner.

Cannot be edited or deleted

SIS owner #

The SIS User associated with the Application.

Lead Information

This group of Properties comprises the Lead information of the Application.

Lead Name #

Name of the Lead that the Application is associated with.

Lead Source #

The source from where information about the Lead is obtained. For example, Internet Advertisement.

History Tab

This tab displays all the events in the history of the Application. For example, actions such as Property change for an Application, or Categorization of an Application, are recorded as events for the Application. To specify the events to be displayed in this tab, select Options from the Tools menu. In the Options dialog box, set the required Application Event options from the Event tab. For a new Application, this tab is always blank.

Categories Tab

This tab lists the Categories created for the Application Object. From this tab, you can categorize the Application by selecting one or more Categories.

Applicant Information Tab

The Applicant Information tab displays the details of the Contact associated with the Application. A Contact associated with an Application is referred as an applicant in Talisma.

Applicant Gender

The gender of the Applicant. You can select one of the following values:

Male

Female

Social Security Number

The Social Security Number of the Applicant.

Applicant Name

The name of the Applicant.

Application Information

Application Type

Indicates whether the Applicant has submitted a Paid Application, or a Free Application.

Admission Round

Indicates the admission round for which the Applicant has submitted the Application. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Round 1

•   Round 2

•   Round 3

Program Type

Indicates the type the Program the Applicant has applied for. By default, this Property can have one of the following values:

•   Full Time

•   Part Time

•   Correspondence

Major

Indicates the Program Major for which the Applicant has submitted the Application. The Talisma Business Administrator can configure custom values for this Property such as:

•   Science

•   Arts

•   Commerce

Degree

The graduation or post-graduation course for which the Applicant has submitted the Application. The Business Administrator User can configure various values for this Property depending on the various degree courses offered by your university.

Example

The Business Administrator User can configure values such as:

•   Masters of Business Applications

•   Masters in Arts

Have you spoken with an Admissions Officer?

This property indicates whether the Applicant has already spoken to the officer in charge of the admissions committee of your university. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

If Yes, provide name of the Admissions Officer

The name of the admissions officer.

First time Applicant

Indicates whether the Applicant has applied for the course for the first time. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Course entry year

The year in which the Applicant will enroll for the course.

Entry Semester

The semester in which the Applicant starts the course. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Spring

•   Summer

•   Fall

•   Winter

Previously admitted

Indicates whether the Applicant was previously admitted to the course. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Previously waitlisted

Indicates whether the admission status of the Applicant was set to Waitlisted when the Applicant had applied for the course previously. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Background Information

Ethnic Origin

Indicates the ethnic origin of the Applicant. By default, this Property can have one of the following values:

•   Asian

•   American Indian

•   Black, NonHispanic

•   Hispanic

•   White, NonHispanic

Citizenship

The country in which the Applicant has a citizenship. By default, you can set the value of this Property to United States.

Are you a permanent resident of the United States

Indicates whether the Applicant is a permanent resident of the United States of America.

•   Yes

•   No

Type of Visa

The type of Visa owned by the Applicant. The Talisma Business Administrator can configure various values for this Property depending on the specific needs of your university. The Type of Visa list will display the list of all values configured by the Business Administrator User. You can select the required value from the list.

Is English your native language?

Indicates whether English is the native language of the Applicant.

Are you currently in the Military?

Indicates whether the Applicant is currently working for any department in the defense forces.

Branch of Military Service

The defense department for which the Applicant is currently working. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Army

•   Navy

•   Air Force

•   Coast Guard

•   Marines

Rank

The defense rank of the Applicant.

Are you a U.S. Veteran?

Indicates whether the Applicant has previously served the armed forces of the United States. This field can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Are you a Military/Veteran dependent?

Indicates whether the Applicant is a dependent of a military veteran. This field can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Are you a Military/Veteran spouse?

Indicates whether the Applicant is the spouse of a military veteran. This field can have one of the following values:

•   Yes

•   No

Disability status

If the Applicant is suffering from any disability, this field indicates the type of disability. By default, this Property can have one of the following values:

•   Physically disabled

•   Learning disabled

•   Physically disabled and Learning disabled

Campus Information

Do you want to visit a campus?

Indicates whether the Applicant has expressed an interest to visit the university campus.

Specify campus for visit

The name of the campus the Applicant wants to visit.

Campus you want to attend

The name of the university campus in which the Applicant wants to pursue the course.

Suspension/Felony Information

Undergone Suspension or Probation?

Indicates whether the Applicant has been suspended, or been a subject to trial previously.

Details of Suspension or Probation?

The details of the Applicant’s suspension.

Convicted of Felony or Misdemeanor

Indicates whether the Applicant was previously convicted in any criminal offence.

Details of Felony or Misdemeanor

 

The details of the Applicants criminal offense.

Financial Assistance Information

Federal financial assistance request

Indicates whether the Applicant has requested for financial assistance to pursue the course.

Request for vocational rehabilitation benefits

Indicates whether the Applicant has requested for any vocational rehabilitation benefits.

Request for veterans education benefits

Indicates whether the Applicant has requested for any benefits that would be provided by your university for students who are the dependents of military veterans.

Corporate tuition assistance

Indicates whether the Applicant has requested for corporate tuition assistance.

Military tuition assistance

Indicates whether the Applicant has requested for tuition.

Application Status

Submission status

The status of the Application. By default, this Property can have one of the following values:

•   In Progress

•   Submitted

Note

When an Applicant submits an Application from Talisma Customer Portal, the value of this Property is automatically set to Submitted.

Admission status

The admission status of the Applicant. By default, this Property can have one of the following values:

•   Under Review

•   Rejected

•   Waitlisted

•   Admitted

Educational Background Tab

This tab enables you to specify details about the educational institutions previously attended by the Applicant, the courses completed in each of them, and marks scored in each course.

To Add Details in this Tab

1.  Right-click in the Educational Background Tab, and select Add from the shortcut menu.

A row is added to the tab.

2.  Specify the necessary values.

School Type

The type of institution attended by the Applicant. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   High School

•   Undergraduate Institution

•   Graduate Institution

Name

The name of an educational institution attended by the Applicant.

Address line 1

Address line 2

The postal address of an educational institution.

City

The city in which the educational institution is located.

Zip code

The postal zip code of the area in which the educational institution is located.

State

The state in which the educational institution is located.

Country

The country in which the educational institution is located. By default, this Property can bet to United States. The Business Administrator User can configure can configure various values for this Property to suit the specific needs of your university.

Year of Joining

The year in which the Applicant joined an educational institution.

Year of Completion

The year in which an Applicant completed a course in an educational institution.

Degree/Diploma (if received)

The degree or diploma received by the Applicant from the educational institution.

Major

The Program major in which the Applicant completed a course in the educational institution.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction followed in the educational institution where the Applicant completed the course.

CGPA

The Cumulative Grade Point Average of the Applicant.

Current Student

Indicates whether the Applicant is currently a student in the educational institution.

Comments

Any comments regarding the Applicant’s educational institution, or educational background.

Transcripts Tab

This is an attachment type of Tab in which you can insert transcripts of an Applicant, such as mark sheets.

Employment Details Tab

If the Applicant is currently an employee of an organization, or has previous work experience, this tab enables you to specify details about the applicant’s work experience, and employment details.

The following table describes the Properties available in the Employment Details Tab:

Full time experience (in months)

The number of months for which the Applicant has worked as a full time employee in an organization.

Part time experience (in months)

The number of months for which the Applicant has worked as a part time employee in an organization.

Most recent employment

This Group includes various Properties that enable you to specify information about the most recent employer of the Applicant, or organization in which the Applicant has worked previously.

Employer

The name of the employer, or Organization.

City

The city in which the organization is located.

Zip code

The postal zip code of the area in which the organization is located.

State

The state in which the organization is located.

Country

The country in which the organization is located.

Phone number

The phone number of the organization.

Employed from

The date on which the Applicant joined the company.

Employed until

The date on which the Applicant was relieved from the services of the company.

Current or last salary earned

The salary earned by the Applicant.

Area of Interest After Graduation Tab

This tab enables you to specify information about the field in which the applicant wants to pursue a career after graduating from the university. The following table describes the Properties displayed in this tab:

Intended field

The field in which the Applicant wants to pursue a career after graduating from the university. The Business Administrator User may configure various values for this Property. You can select the required value from the list.

For example, select Computer Software Engineering if the Applicant has expressed an interest to pursue a career in this field.

Specific Function

A specific activity that the Applicant wants to perform in the intended field.

The Business Administrator User may configure various values for this Property. You can select the required value from the list.

For example, select Programming if the Applicant’s intends to be a Software Programmer in the field of Software Engineering.

Resume Tab

The Resume tab is an attachment type of Tab that enables you to insert the Applicant’s resume, or any other documents required for your reference.

To Insert Attachments in the Tab

1.  Select the Resume tab, and from the shortcut menu, select Insert.

The Insert Files dialog box is displayed.

2.  Select a file and click Open. The file is inserted in the Resume tab.

Double-click the file to open it in a new window.

Extracurricular activities Tab

The Extracurricular activities tab enables you to specify information about any extracurricular activities pursued by the applicant.

The following table describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Activity

The name of the activity pursued by the Applicant.

For example, Soccer.

Role

The Applicant’s role in the activity.

For example, Goal Keeper.

Participated from

The date from which the Applicant participated in the activity.

Participated until

The date until which the Applicant participated in the activity.

Frequency

The frequency at which the Applicant participated in the activity. You can select one of the following values:

•   Weekly

•   Monthly

•   Yearly

Number of hours per selected frequency

The number of hours for which the Applicant participated in the activity.

Comments

Any comments about the Applicant’s extracurricular activity.

Awards and Recognitions Tab

This tab enables you to specify information about any awards and recognitions received by the Applicant. The following table describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Title

The award title.

Received On

The date on which the Applicant received the award or recognition.

Details

Details of the Applicant’s award.

Essays Tab

The Essays tab enables you to insert attachments that contain Essays, or any other creative articles written by the Applicant.

To Insert Attachments in the Tab

1.  Select the Resume tab, and from the shortcut menu, select Insert.

The Insert Files dialog box is displayed.

2.  Select a file and click Open. The file is inserted in the Resume tab.

Double-click the file to open it in a new window.

Payment Details Tab

The Payment Details tab enables you to specify details of payment received from the applicant for admission to the course.

The following table describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Property

Description

Fees Due

The course fee to be paid by the Applicant.

Due Date

The date by which the Applicant must pay the course fee.

Fees Received

The amount already paid by the Applicant.

Payment Method

The method used the Applicant to pay the course fee. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   Credit Card

•   Cash

•   E-Check

•   Wire Transfer

•   PayPal

•   Cheque

•   Draft

•   Other

Credit Card Type

If the Applicant has paid the amount using a credit card, this Property enables you to specify the type of Credit card used by the Applicant. This Property can have one of the following values:

•   MasterCard

•   Visa

Payment Transaction #

The payment transaction number.

Payment Transaction Date

The date on which the payment transaction occurred.

Comments

Comments about the Applicant’s payment.

Internal Processing Tab

The Internal Processing tab enables you to specify details of the Applicant using which you can quickly processes the Application.

The following tab describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Property

Description

Transcripts received

Indicates whether any transcripts were received from the Applicant.

Essays uploaded

Indicates whether the Applicant has provided any essays, or creative articles written by the Applicant.

Resume uploaded

Indicates whether the Applicant has provided the resume.

Additional information

Enables you to specify any additional information about the Applicant.

Recommenders Tab

The Recommenders tab enables you to add recommenders for the Application. When a Contact recommends the Application from the My Recommendations tab of Talisma Customer Portal, the details of the recommender are automatically updated in the tab.

The following table describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Contact ID

The ID of the Contact who has recommended the Application.

Name

The name of the recommender.

E-mail

The e-mail address of the recommender.

Phone

The phone number of the recommender.

Created

The date on which the Contact was created in Talisma.

No of Interactions

The number of Interactions associated with the Contact.

My Recommendations Tab

In a scenario where you receive a Recommendation by postal mail, you can create the Recommendation in Talisma, and associate it with the Application by including the Recommendation in the My Recommendations tab of the Application. For more information about including a Recommendation in this tab, see Adding a Recommendation to the Application.

The following table describes the Properties displayed as column headers in the tab:

Recommendation ID

The ID of the Recommendation.

Name

The name of the Recommendation.

Owner

The Talisma User who created the Recommendation.

Team

The Team to which the Recommendation belongs.

Created On

The date on which the Recommendation was created in Talisma.

Last Updated

The date on which Properties of the Recommendation were last updated.
