Creating a Trip Activity
Trip activities are tasks associated with a trip that are performed by a recruiter, other staff members, or volunteers. In a trip, these records can be created only by the owner of the trip.
You can create the following type of trip activities:
- Appointment
- Event
- Other
Further, a trip activity can belong to one of the following categories:
- Student Appointment
- Counselor Appointment
- Parent Appointment
- High-School Visit
- College Fair
- Transfer Event
- Conference
In a trip record, it is recommended to create a trip activity by clicking + in the Trip Activities tab instead of clicking the New button in the trip activity form.
A Trip Activity record includes the following information:

Trip Activity ID - It is automatically generated in the format TRA-Counter-Suffix. The counter (5-characters) after TRA increases sequentially as you create trip activity records. The suffix (4-characters) is updated with randomly generated alphanumeric text.

Trip Activity Name - Based on the selection of the trip activity type, it is automatically updated as follows:

For Appointment - The value is displayed as <Appointment Subject> - <Trip Name>

For Event - The value is displayed as <Event Name> - <Trip Name>

Other - Manually specify the trip activity name

Start and end date / time details - These are inherited from the associated appointment or event. If the trip activity is Other, specify the start and end date / time values.

Location information - Based on the type of trip activity that is selected, the location information is updated as follows:

For Appointment, the address specified in the Location field of the Appointment is used.

For Event, the address specified in the Building record, which is selected in the Location section of the Event is used.

For Other, you must manually specify the address.

Appointment and Event details - By default, the appointments and events in which the logged in user is the owner are available for selection.

Expense details - The estimated and actual expense details for a trip activity.

Details of staff members and volunteers who will execute or help in the execution of the trip activity.

Trip Activity Outcome - Displays the count of the Inbound Interest and Lifecycle records in the # Related Inbound Interests and # Related Lifecycles fields that are created as a result of the Trip Activity. Refresh the # Related Inbound Interests and # Related Lifecycles fields to displays the updated count of the Inbound Interest and Lifecycle records.

Trip Rating: You can add a rating and provide feedback for a trip activity. The rating for a trip is calculated by taking the average of the rating given in associated trip activities whose status is Pending and Completed. The ratings given for a canceled trip activity and ratings not provided for a trip activity are excluded while calculating the average rating for a trip.
