Mandatory Fields in Entities With CDS Create Steps

Problem

For a flow using Common Data Service (CDS) actions to create an entity record, if an administrator customizes the Business Required (Mandatory) fields in entities which have CDS Create steps, the steps would require a value to be provided for such fields.

In this scenario, the administrator may not be able to Turn ON such flows or the flows which are ON may not work as expected.

Resolution

1. Identify such a flow and open it in Edit mode.

   

2. Click Save.

   

   The Flow Checker will display the error as indicated in the following image.

   

   The “Create Contact” step requires the mandatory field Education Level to be specified.

3. Provide a value to the field in the above image.

   

4. Observe that the flow checker doesn’t indicate any errors.
5. Save your changes.
