Creating a Success Network Record

When you create a success network record, you are creating the association of a contact-based student group with a user who will be assigned a role that is selected in the Role field. Typically, a user is assigned the role of a mentor, coach, instructor, and so on. The user is expected to work with students in the group (Marketing List) to help them complete their activities. A Success Network record can be created using one of the following ways:

  • Manually

    • From the Success Network page (under Reach > Student Success > Success Network)

  • Automatically

    • When the Success Network - Create Success Network based on Success Network Assignment flow is triggered on creation of an Assign type of Success Network Assignment record. For details, see About Success Network Assignment.

    • When the CMC_AutoCreateStudentSuccessNetwork workflow is triggered in the following scenarios to create a success network record with the Staff Role as Advisor:
      • A new contact is created with Student as one of the values in the Contact Type field.
      • An existing contact is edited to include Student as one of the values in the Contact Type field.

      The owner of the contact will be set as the advisor. Administrators can edit the CMC_AutoCreateStudentSuccessNetwork workflow to set a different staff role for the automatically created success network record. If a staff role is not set, a success network record will not be created.

When you associate a success network record with a student group (Marketing List), assignment of success network records will occur to students in the group. A Success Network record will be assigned to a Student record only if Student is one of the values in the Contact Type field.

  • Success network details are also displayed in the Current Student Profile area of a student's record.

  • You can also create a success network in a student record's Student Progress tab. The created record will be applicable only to that student.
