Change the Bot Name

Anthology Digital Assistant allows institutions to change the name of the bot. The name change needs to occur in 3 places:

  1. When the bot is added in the Live Assist Administration Portal (see Add a Bot, step 4a), institutions can give the bot a Nickname. After the bot has been added, the Nickname can be edited.

The Nickname configured in the Live Assist Administration Portal for the bot will be associated to the Chat Transcript in Anthology Reach.

  2. When a bot is added in the Live Assist Administration Portal, a Bot User is created in the Engagement Portal (see Create a Bot User Skill, step 8).

The Bot User will initially have the same Nickname as the bot. This is the name users will see on the chat window and the response from the bot: “You are now chatting with <Nickname>”. Once connected, the initial greeting for introducing the bot will include the bot Nickname.

If you change the Nickname in the Administration Portal for the bot, the Nickname will also be updated in the Engagement Portal for the Bot User, but if you change the Nickname for the Bot User in the Engagement Portal, the Nickname for the bot will not be updated. Make sure the Nickname for the bot and the Bot User are the same in both locations.

  3. In the Customer Administration Portal, select the Tenant Configuration tile and specify the Bot Name under General settings.

Anthology Digital Assistant version 1.1 and later allows institutions to change the name of the bot. The name change needs to occur in 3 places:

  3. The bot Nickname and the Nickname for the Bot User needs to align with the institution's FAQ response for “What is your name?”

In the FAQs (see RENEE-FAQ-0107), we have provided the question “What is your name?” to allow institutions to change the name of Renee. When a bot is added to a customer's environment, specify the bot name to align with the FAQ response for “What is your name?”.
