Contact Tabs and Properties
The tables in this topic describe the Properties available in the various tabs of the Contact Object.
The Contact window contains the following tabs:

Properties Tab
The Properties tab contains system Properties. It also contains custom Properties created for the Contact Object. Values for these Properties are set in Talisma Client.

Base Cost |
The cost of the Contact, derived from the total cost of the external data source from which the Contact was imported. For example, if the cost of a Contact list from an external source is US $100.00, and 100 Contacts are in the list, the base cost of each Contact is US $1.0. This is a computed Property, calculated using the following formula: Import Cost/Number of successful imports from the source. |

Indicates the format in which the Contact can receive e-mail. The format can be Text or HTML, or both. |

Language |
Language of the Interactions exchanged with the Contact. By default, the value for this Property is set to English. You can reset the language. The value set for this Property is used to send automated e-mail messages to the Contact. |

Default e-mail character set
|
By default, this Character Set is used for e-mail messages with a blank Character Set, received from this Contact. This Property is applicable if you have selected the option to receive e-mail messages with blank a Character Set in the Inbox Workspace. Further, this Character Set is used for outgoing e-mail messages to the Contact. If the Property is incompatible with the content of the e-mail message that is sent, or if the Property is blank, the Character Set specified in the registry is used. This Property is created during the installation or upgrade process. This is an enumerated Property with enumerated values that include the Character Sets supported by Talisma's Mail Component. This Property can be edited in the Contact window. |

Send SMS |
Indicates whether SMS messages can be sent to Contacts. By default, the value of this Property is set to No. You can change its value to Yes. You cannot send SMS messages to Contacts for whom this value is set to No even if you select such Contacts to be the recipients of SMS messages. |

Block Incoming SMS |
Indicates whether incoming SMS messages from the Contact must be blocked. By default, the value of this Property is No. To block incoming SMS messages, change the value of this Property to Yes. |

Send Email |
Indicates whether email messages can be sent to Contacts. By default, the value of this Property is Yes. Its value is changed to No if the contact opts not to receive email messages by clicking an unsubscribe link in the email or by communicating with the user through other media that no email messages must be sent. In the former scenario, the value of the property changes to No automatically. In the latter scenario, the user changes the value of the property from Yes to No. If the property is blank, its value is considered as Yes. |

Relationship Manager |
The User who the Contact requests must be set as the Contact’s Relationship Manager. |

This Property can have one of the following values: • Yes: Indicates that the Contact has confirmed or Opted-In to receive SMS messages. • No: Indicates that the Contact has Opted-Out from receiving SMS messages. By default, this Property is blank. This Property is read-only and its value is determined by various scenarios. For more information on the various scenarios, see “Behavior of the Send SMS and Double Opt-In(SMS) Properties”. |

Title # |
The titles used as name prefixes on written correspondence for the Lead, Student and Staff records. |

Contact type |
Indicates the type of a Contact. You can set one of the following values: • Student • Staff • Faculty • Alumni • Parent • Friend • Sibling • Guest A Contact type can be used to set a discounted cost for an Event for Participants belonging to one of the Contact types. |

Data block indicator |
This Property can have one of the following values: • Yes: Directory information is not displayed (or blocked) in the FERPA Information dialog box. • No: Directory information is displayed in the FERPA Information dialog box. Note By default, the value of this Property is No. |

The date and time when the value of the Data block indicator Property was last updated. |

Hispanic/Latino # |
Indicates whether the Contact is of Hispanic or Latin ethnic origin. This Property can have one of the following values: • Yes: Indicates that the Contact is of Hispanic or Latin ethnic origin. • No: Indicates that the Contact is not of Hispanic or Latin ethnic origin. |

Indicates the citizenship of the Contact. For example, Non Resident. |

Nationality |
Indicates the nationality of the Contact. For example, American. |

Disabled |
Indicates the disability status of the Contact. This Property can have one of the following values: • Unspecified: Indicates that the disability status of the Contact is not specified. • Yes: Indicates that the Contact has some form of disability. • No: Indicates that the Contact does not have any disability. By default, this Property is blank. |

High school academic GPA |
Indicates the Contact’s academic grade point average in high school. This is a number type of Property that supports decimal values. For example, 3.5. |

The SIS User associated with the Contact. |

Full Name (Group) Name of the Contact. These Properties are free text fields, in which you can type a maximum of 255 characters. |

The first name of the Contact. This is the Contact's display name in Talisma. This name is used in Talisma when searching for Contacts, and in Filters. |

The maiden name of the Contact. |

The suffix added to the Lead or Student’s name. |

This Property indicates if the Contact who progresses to become a Target in the outbound Phone Campaign can be called by the Talisma Phone User. By default, the value of this Property is set to Yes. |

This Property indicates that a Talisma Phone User cannot call the Contact before a specified date. The Contact can be called on or after the specified date. Example If the date specified for this Property is 5/20/2005, a Talisma Phone User cannot call the Contact before this date. The user can call the Contact on or after this date. By default, the value of this Property is set to the date on which the Contact is created. |

The course in which the Student has expressed interest. |

The Program in which the Student wishes to enroll. |

The Shift selected by the Lead or Student selects to attend classes. |
|

Expected Start Date # |
The date which the Student decides to start classes. |

Term # |
Term is the duration of the course. |

|
Program Level # |
The level of degree which the Student chooses. The Student may choose a diploma course or a post-graduate course. |

Lead Information The group of Properties that comprise the Lead information. |

Education Level # |
Classifying the Leads based on the Previous Education Level. |
|
|
Lead Source # |
The details of how the Lead came to know of your university. |
|
|
Lead Type # |
The medium through which Leads are identified. For example, through T.V, Radio, or Newspaper. |

Extra-curricular |
Any extra-curricular activity performed by the Contact outside the realm of the normal curriculum of education. |

Non-immigrant Student Tab
In addition to values of Properties in the Properties tab of the Contact, values of Properties in this tab will also be sent to the SIS using the functionality of the Outgoing Queue Object when the Talisma and SIS databases are synchronized. Further, changes to corresponding fields of the Non-immigrant Student tab in the SIS will be updated in Talisma as a result of Incoming Queue items that are created in Talisma.
The functionality of the Update type column in the Contact-to-Lead and Lead-to-Contact Properties Inheritance Maps is also applicable to Properties in the Non-immigrant Student tab.

Categories Tab
This tab lists the Categories created for the Contact Object. From this tab, you can categorize the Contact by selecting one or more Categories.
History Tab
This tab displays all the events in the history of the Contact. For example, actions such as Property change for a Contact, or Categorization of a Contact, are recorded as events for the Contact. To specify the events to be displayed in this tab, select Options from the Tools menu. In the Options dialog box, set the required Contact Event options from the Event tab. For a new Contact, this tab is always blank.
• When Talisma is installed afresh, audit is disabled for all events and Properties. Hence, audit records will not be displayed in the History tab. Audit can be enabled using the Audit Configuration feature in Talisma Business Administrator. However, by default, audit is enabled for the predefined Properties in the Event payment details tab of the Contact window. Audit cannot be disabled for these Properties. • For more information about enabling or disabling audit, see Business Administrator Help and Installation Manager Help. |
Interactions Tab
This tab lists the Interactions belonging to the Contact. For information about the Properties displayed in this tab, see Interaction Tabs and Properties.
Opportunities Tab
If you created an Opportunity for the Contact from a Campaign, this tab displays Opportunity-related details. For information about Properties displayed in this tab, see Opportunity Tabs and Properties.
Orders Tab
This tab lists the Orders associated with the Contact. For information about Properties displayed in this tab, see Order Tabs and Properties.
Mailers Tab
This tab displays details related to the Mailers sent to the Contact. For a new Contact, this tab is always blank. The following table describes the Properties displayed in the Mailers tab:

Target ID |
The unique identifier of the Target that corresponds with the Contact in a Campaign. A Contact added to a Campaign is converted into a Target when the Contact progresses from one Step to another in the Campaign. The value for this Property is automatically generated by Talisma. |
Mailer ID |
A unique identifier for the Mailer sent to the Contact. The value for this Property is automatically generated by Talisma. |
Subject |
The subject of the Mailer sent to the Contact. |
Campaign ID |
The Campaign to which the Contact was added as a Target. |
Campaign name |
The name of the Campaign through which Mailers were sent to the Contact. |
Mailer Status |
The status of the Mailer. It indicates whether the mailer was sent and delivered to the contact. This property can have one of the following values: • Sent: Indicates that the Mailer has been sent to the Contact. • Sent Failed: Indicates that the Mailer was not dispatched successfully from Talisma. • Undelivered: Indicates that the Mailer was not delivered to the Contact. • Opened: Indicates that the Contact viewed the Mailer. This value is displayed only if Read receipts are enabled for the computer on which the Campaign Dispatcher used for sending the Mailer is installed. • Responded: Indicates that the Contact has sent a response to the Mailer. • Excluded - Bounced: Indicates that the email address of the target was hard or soft bounced, and was excluded from the list of recipients at the Send mailer action. • Excluded - Preferences Mismatched: Indicates that the target did not receive the email sent at the Send mailer step because preferences in the campaign did not match the target's preferences. |
Date of Action |
The date on which the Contact performed an action related to the Mailer. This action may be sending a response to the Mailer, clicking a URL in the Mailer, or filling a Web form. |
Targets Tab
If the Contact is a Target in a Campaign, the Target-related details are displayed in this tab. For a new Contact, this tab is blank. For information about the Properties displayed in this tab, see Target Tabs and Properties.

This tab displays the details of the URLs clicked by the Contact. The following table describes the Properties displayed in the URLs Clicked tab:

The ID of the Mailer sent to the Contact. The value for this Property is automatically generated by Talisma. |
Campaign ID |
The Campaign to which the Contact was added as a Target. |
Notes Tab
This tab provides a text area in which notes can be added. These notes will be visible to other Talisma Client Users.
Account Tab
This tab displays details of the Account to which the Contact belongs. If the Contact is not associated with any Account, this tab is blank. The following table describes the Properties displayed in this tab:

Team Tab
Every Interaction belongs to a Team. This tab displays details about the Teams to which the Interactions associated with the Contact belong. The following table describes the Properties displayed in this tab:

Visit Tab
This tab displays the details pertaining to the Contacts visit to a tracked URL. The following table describes the Properties displayed in the Visit tab:

URL in-time |
The time when the Contact started browsing the tracked URL. |
URL out-time |

The duration (in seconds) of the Contact's visit to the tracked URL. Formula: URL in-time - URL out-time. |
Shopping cart value |
The total value of items in the visitor's shopping cart at any given point during the visit. |
Referrer |
The person who provided the URL of the corporate Web site to the Contact. |
Browser |
The Internet browser used by the Contact. |
Form Submitted |
Indicates whether the Contact submitted a form hosted on the corporate Web site. The value for this Property can be Yes or No. |
Demo |
The name or URL of the demo hosted on the corporate Web site. |
Demo clicked |
Indicates whether a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) or a Flash File hosted on the corporate Web site was clicked. The value for this Property can be Yes or No. |
Banner ad |
The name or URL of the banner advertisement hosted on the corporate Web site. |

Test Scores Tab #

Document Status Tab #
This tab lists the Document Status items associated with the Contact. For more information, see “Document Status Tabs and Properties”.
Addresses Tab #
This tab lists the address details of the Leads associated with the Contact. For more information, see “ Address Tabs and Properties”.
Primary Accounts Tab #
This tab lists the Primary Accounts associated with the Contact. For more information, see “ Account Tabs and Properties”.
Leads Tab #

Enrollments Tab #

This tab lists Properties of the Product Object. For more information, see “ Product Tabs and Properties”.
Portal Tab
The Portal tab is created in the Contact window of Talisma Client when Talisma Customer Portal is installed. This tab displays information about the Portals for which the Contact has registered. For each Portal, the following Properties are updated:

The URL of the Portal for which the Contact has registered. |
TPIN |
A unique six-character value that is automatically generated when the Contact registers on the Portal. The Contact must use this TPIN to log on afresh to the Portal, and must subsequently change the TPIN to a required password. Note This property can be viewed as a column in the Contact table view. However, the TPIN property in Forms Builder cannot be displayed as a column in the Contact table view. |
Has Access |
This Property can have one of the following values: • Yes: Indicates that the Contact has access to the Portal. • No: Indicates that the Contact does not have access to the Portal. By default, the value of this Property is set to Yes for a Public Portal. For a Restricted Portal, the default value of this Property is set to No, and must be changed to Yes to enable the Contact to log on to the Portal. |
Password |
The password required to log on to the Portal. You cannot edit this Property in Talisma Client. This field displays the password in an encrypted format, and is updated when the Contact changes the value in the TPIN Property to a unique password. |
Note Ensure that the Portal tab and the groups within the tab are not deleted. |
Preferences Tab
The progress of base object records in campaigns is based on communication preferences values that are set in this tab. Preferences can be added or edited in the Preferences tab of a contact record in Web Client. Updates to the tab can also occur through an import operation, postal mail, telephone calls, or when the contact updates information on an institutional portal, and so on.
Information in the Preferences tab can only be viewed in Desktop Client.

Calendar Events Tab
The Calendar Events tab displays details of Calendar Events that are sent to attendees. For a new Object record, this tab is always blank. By default records in the tab are displayed in descending order on the Start Date Property.

My Recommended Applications Tab
The My Recommended Applications tab lists the Applications recommended by the Contact. A Recommender is a Contact in Talisma who recommends Applications of students. A Contact, as a recommender can recommend various Applications from Talisma Customer Portal. Alternatively, you can manually add Contacts as recommenders to Applications.

In a scenario where you receive a Recommendation by postal mail, you can create the Recommendation in Talisma, and associate it with the Recommender (The Contact) by including the Recommendation in the My Recommendations tab of the Contact. Participants Paid For Tab
The Participants Paid For tab of a Contact lists the details of all Participants for whom the Contact is set as a Payee. A Payee is a Contact in Talisma who pays the Event registration amount on behalf of a Participant of the Event. You can manually set a Payee for a Participant from the Participant window. Group Members Tab
The Group Members tab of a Contact lists the details of all Participants for which the Contact is set as a primary Participant. Agency/3rd Party Tab #
This tab lists the details of the Account with which the Contact is associated. For more information about Properties displayed in this tab, see “ Contact Tabs and Properties”.
Previous Education Tab #
This tab lists details of the Previous Education details of the Contact.
Personal Tab
Lists Properties created for the Personal tab in Talisma Business Administrator. The tab is visible in Talisma Client only for the User who created these Properties. Note that the Personal tab is visible for the User only if the User has created at least one Property for the tab.
Columns Displayed in a Related Object Tab
Interaction, Opportunity, Order, Target, and Account are the Objects that are related to the Contact Object. These Object tabs display Properties as column headers. You can customize the columns that are displayed in these tabs.
